Overview

YTCC - Constructive YouTube Comments operates entirely within your browser. We are committed to protecting your privacy and processing minimal data necessary for the service to function.

Data Collection and Usage

The extension:

• Reads YouTube comment text on pages you visit to evaluate and rewrite potentially rude comments
• Runs a local heuristic to determine whether a comment is rude. Only comments that pass this heuristic are sent to our secure backend API for AI rewriting
• Sends only the comment text (no usernames, timestamps, cookies, or other metadata) to our backend API via HTTPS
• Stores your enable toggle, aggressiveness level, and trial usage count in chrome.storage.sync so they can sync across your Chrome profiles

Payment Processing

When you upgrade, Razorpay processes your payment information. Our backend receives Razorpay webhooks, records a non-personal license entry (hashed device ID + subscription status), and exposes an API the extension calls to confirm you're licensed. No card data is handled by the extension.

What We Don't Collect

We do not collect:

• Analytics or usage tracking
• Browsing history
• Keystrokes or personal information
• Any data beyond what's necessary for the extension to function

Data Storage

All extension settings are stored locally in your browser via Chrome's storage API. If you revoke the extension's permissions or uninstall it, all locally stored settings are removed by Chrome.

Third-Party Services

We use:

• AI Processing Service - for AI-powered comment rewriting (only comment text is sent)
• Razorpay - for payment processing (handled entirely by Razorpay, we only receive subscription status)
